We’ve shown you how to change the front oil on a Leybold booster pump. Now, we will show you how to change the shaft seal oil on the back of the booster pump.
- Remove the oil when the booster pump is still warm or hot. This encourages better oil drainage.
- Use a drain pan that is capable of holding at least two quarts of oil.
- Perform other preventative maintenance activities at this time. This includes checking the condition of the gasket.
- Avoid overtightening the gasket when closing back up.
If you have to refill the oil more than once a week, you have a leak. You should inspect the surrounding areas and call for an inspection.
